Jonathan Pennington on Palindromes

with one comment

Dr. Jonathan Pennington, New Testament professor at Southern Seminary, had some amusing things to say about palindromes (a sentence, word, or phrase, that is the same forwards as it is backwards) today in class:

‘A man. A plan. A canal. Panama.’  What a gift from God!  If that [phrase] is not common grace, I don’t know what is–It’s only surpassed by:  ‘Go hang a salami.  I’m a lasagna hog.’

  1. I love the second one. (My papa has always said the first one, for whatever reason 😉
