Founders Journal Article: “Jonathan Edwards’ Religious Affections”

leave a comment »

I’m pretty late on posting this, but issue 85 (summer 2011) of The Founders Journal is now available for purchase or download on the Founders Ministries website.  It features an article I wrote on Jonathan Edwards’ Treatise on Religious Affections, as well as articles by Dr. Tom Nettles and Dr. Roger Duke.

In the first part of the article, I attempt to highlight and tie together the major points of Edwards’ work, and in the second part, I seek to apply the work in a local church context.  The Treatise is, I believe, one of, if not the, most important Christian books ever written.  However, it is 400 difficult pages long, so if you desire to read it but don’t have the time, I did my best in the article to make the work more accessible as well as highlight its importance.  Check it out here.
